Billy Porter shut down the red carpet with his lavish clothing. He brandished an all-black ball gown accompanied with a skirt. His getup features a Victorian era bottom with a tuxedo top by Christian Siriano. This costume wore by Porter was created in support of transgender rights according to Sam Ratelle , Porters stylist “When [Porter] started wearing dresses recently, that was very specific because of all the stuff that was going on in the White House regarding transgender rights. We started talking about it and we’re like, we have to start representing these people because you have to normalize that somehow publicly. There has to be visibility.” One can only what Billy has in store for next year’s Oscars.
